Denise D. WoodKeynote: Denise D. Wood
Corporate Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer, FedEx Corporation

Denise Wood is Corporate Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for FedEx Corporation. She is responsible for security and business continuity strategies, processes and technologies that help secure FedEx and its broad portfolio of transportation, e-commerce and business services. Her key initiatives include Identity Management, Application Security, Enterprise Desktop & Server Management, Risk Management & Compliance, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, and Enterprise Security Awareness.Before assuming her current post, Denise held several Information Technology officer positions supporting key FedEx initiatives, including development of fedex.com, the FedEx automation program, sales and marketing support systems and the FedEx data warehouse.Named 2007 National Information Security Executive of the Year in the enterprise category by Executive Alliance, Denise was also selected as one of Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2007 in recognition of excellence in technology leadership. She is a three-time winner of the FedEx Five Star, the most prestigious award FedEx bestows to honor employees for contributing to the company’s success. In 1995, Denise was named the first Chief Information Officer for the FedEx Asia-Pacific region. She spent three years in Hong Kong creating the information infrastructure to support that fast-growing region, and was responsible for all information technology and billing functions from Beijing to Sydney.Denise joined FedEx in 1984 and has nearly 25 years of network computing, systems development and information security experience. She is a member of Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen’s eHealth Advisory Council, which was formed to help coordinate ehealth initiatives across the state in order to develop and implement electronic medical records. She is an electrical engineering graduate of Auburn University and holds a masters degree in Information Systems Management from Christian Brothers University.
Patrick GrayPatrick Gray
Principal Security Strategist, CISCO Systems

Patrick Gray joined Cisco Systems as its Principal Security Strategist after serving as the Director of X-Force Operations, Office of the Chief Technology Officer, Internet Security Systems, Inc. (ISS). Gray also comes to Cisco Systems after twenty years of service with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Upon his retirement from the FBI in November 2001, he joined Internet Security Systems and created the X-Force Internet Threat Intelligence Center and thereafter was Director of the Penetration Testing and Emergency Response Teams until his promotion to the X-Force R & D Team. As a result of his service with the FBI, and the Internet Threat Intelligence Center, he has first-hand knowledge of the hacking community, its aims and methodologies as they attack government, ecommerce, energy and financial entities relentlessly.

Prior to joining Internet Security Systems, Gray served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for twenty years and has served in Baltimore, Maryland, Daytona Beach, Florida, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, Georgia. Gray was also assigned as a Supervisory Special Agent at FBI Headquarters, Washington, D.C. in the Intelligence Division where he was responsible for global counterintelligence investigations. While serving in the Washington, D.C. area, Gray was seconded to the National Security Agency where he was responsible for an FBI group that provided operational support to the Intelligence Community.

He was transferred to Atlanta in 1988 to assume Supervisory Duties for the FBI’s Drug and Violent Gang Program in Georgia. In 1994, he assumed the duties as the Supervisor of the Technical Services Squad and served as the Acting Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Georgia in 1996 and 1997 during the time of the spree of terrorist bombings at Centennial Olympic Park and two subsequent bombings at two women’s clinics in Alabama and Georgia.

Gray was assigned as Supervisor of the Special Operations Group in 1994 which ultimately morphed into one of the FBI’s first regional Cyber Crime Squads; and was a member of the FBI’s elite Computer Assistance Response Team as a Forensic Examiner. He has investigated cases involving financial institutions, government agencies, commercial businesses and colleges and universities. He was also assigned to the investigation of the September 11 attacks. He was the Coordinator of the Atlanta Chapter of InfraGard, an alliance between the public and private sectors for the sharing of information regarding technology security issues. He grew the Atlanta Chapter of InfraGard into the largest chapter nationally. He continues to work closely with the FBI, other U.S. Government agencies, the Department of Homeland Security and the White House.

Gray is also a board certified Homeland Security professional by the American College of Forensic Examiners International; is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners; the Information Systems Audit and Control Association; InfraGard Atlanta; the Atlanta Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association, and the International Information Systems Forensic Association. He has lectured at Colleges and Universities around the country. He has spoken at numerous technology events around the world to include Gartner Sector 5, Networld Interop, the IT World Congress, CIO Summit, GE Access, Forbes and others. He has been quoted in numerous newspapers, magazine articles and periodicals and makes regular cable television appearances.

Gray is a former Marine having served in Vietnam.

Min JuMin Ju
Security Strategist, Symantec Corporation

Min Ju is a Security Strategist for Symantec Corporation. He leads a fast-paced, high-performance Systems Engineering sales organization that directly supports the business goals of a $6 billion Fortune 500 software company. His responsibilities range from security strategy, holistic solutions, architecture, education and trusted advisor to security executives, senior management and engineers to large enterprise customers. Min has a strong passion for technology and 16 years of diverse experience in information security, web architecture, infrastructure, networking and development environments. Min has created several utilities and scripts that have shown enough value to get included with the Symantec Endpoint Protection build. For his efforts and contribution Min was bestowed an Innovation Award at the 2008 SE Summit. Min is a very active member of the global security community in Symantec and in his local geography. He established the first Midwest Security User Group. Prior to Symantec, Min worked as the Head of Information Security and Security Architect for CDW Corporation, as an ethical hacking team lead, vulnerability researcher and web architect at Allstate Insurance and a senior consultant at Arthur Andersen in the application integration and Internet teams.

Min is a SANS Mentor instructor and is a member of the SANS Advisory Board. He has spoken on security at the Symantec SE Symposium, CampIT Conferences, Science and Arts Academy, Maritz Technology Conference, Depaul University, Pennsylvania State University’s IST Future Forum, Wilbur Wright College, Allstate Insurance’s AllTech Forum and has given various internal security presentations throughout his career.

Min holds a M.B.A. from the Keller Graduate School of Management, B.S. from DeVry Institute of Technology, and numerous certifications including GREM, GPEN, CEH, CISSP, CISA, Security+, Linux+, MCSE and MCSA.

In his spare time he enjoys his family, likes to barbeque, and gets an adrenaline rush from amateur auto racing.

Joe JarzombeckJoe Jarzombeck, PMP, CSSLP
Director, Software Assurance, National Cyber Security Division, Office of Assistant Secretary for Cyber Security and Communications, U.S. Department of Homeland Security
Joe Jarzombek is the Director for Software Assurance in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) National Cyber Security Division. He leads public-private collaboration efforts for government interagency teams with industry, academia, and standards organizations to shift the security paradigm away from patch management by addressing security needs in work force education and training, and mitigating software supply chain risks through security-enhanced development and acquisition practices, and research and development efforts focused on maturing diagnostic capabilities to provide transparency for software and code behavior.

After retiring from the U.S. Air Force as a Lt. Col. in program management, Jarzombek worked in the cyber security industry as vice president for product and process engineering. He later served in two software-related positions within the Office of the Secretary of Defense prior to accepting his current position.

As a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), Joe Jarzombek has spoken extensively on measurement, software assurance, and practices for security-enhanced acquisition and development. He encourages further participation in DHS-sponsored public-private software assurance efforts via the Software Assurance Forum and on-line resources of the “Build Security In” website and Software Assurance Community Resources and Information Clearinghouse.

My HarrisonMy Harrison
Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Memphis Field Office

Ms. Harrison was born and received her early education in Tampa, Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, and her Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Grambling State University, Grambling, Louisiana. Prior to her appointment with the FBI, she was employed by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Tampa, Florida, where she served as a Deputy Sheriff, Patrol Corporal, Undercover Narcotics Detective, Prescription Fraud Detective, and Internal Affairs Investigator. She retired from the sheriff's office in February 1985.

Ms. Harrison entered on duty as a Special Agent with the FBI on February 3, 1985, and upon completion of training at Quantico, was assigned to the New Orleans Field Office, Shreveport Resident Agency where she worked general criminal investigations. In June 1991, she transferred to the Los Angeles Division and was assigned to the Civil Rights Squad. In 1995, she transferred to FBIHQ as a Supervisor in the Civil Rights Unit. She transferred to the Houston Division in February 1997 where she served as Supervisor of the Economic Crimes Squad and the Health Care Fraud Squad.

In November 1999, Ms. Harrison was promoted to Unit Chief in the Hate Crimes Unit in FBIHQ and in September 2001, she was appointed Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Newark Field Office with responsibility for Public Corruption, White Collar Crimes, Cyber Crimes, and Civil Rights. In April 20004, Ms. Harrison was promoted to the rank of Section Chief in the Administrative Services Division at FBIHQ. She was the third African-American female to enter into the ranks of the FBI's Senior Executive Schedule. In February 2005, Ms. Harrison was selected as the Special Agent in Charge of the Memphis Field Office.

Ms. Harrison is the mother of two adult children.

Scott AugenbaumScott E. Augenbaum
Supervisory Special Agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Cyber Crime Squad
Scott Augenbaum is the Cyber Crime Supervisor in the FBI Memphis Division and manages the program in Nashville and Memphis with a staff of seven Special Agents. The FBI's Cyber Program includes Computer Intrusion investigations, online child exploitation, Intellectual Property Rights and Internet Fraud. Scott started his career in the FBI in the New York Field Office in 1988 as a Support Employee in the Financial Management Section. In 1994, he went to the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA and became a Special Agent. His first office was the Albany, New York Field Office, Syracuse Resident Agency. He was assigned to work Domestic Terrorism, White Collar Crime and all Computer Crime investigations. After Sept 11, Scott was appointed the Joint Terrorism Task Force Coordinator for the Syracuse Office. In December 2004, he was promoted to a Supervisory Special Agent at FBIHQ in the Cyber Division. He was assigned to the Cyber Task Force Unit and was responsible for managing the resources of the FBI 72 Cyber Task Forces throughout the United States. In addition, Scott was responsible for the management oversight of the Internet Fraud and Intellectual Property Rights Program.
Michael J. Stawasz
Senior Counsel, Computer Crime & Intellectual Property, United States Department of Justice

Mick Stawasz is a Senior Counsel with the Computer Crime & Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS) of the U.S. Department of Justice. Mick’s work for the Department focuses on the effect of emerging technologies on law enforcement and the novel legal questions these innovations create. He is a frequent lecturer nationally and internationally on computers and networks and obtaining evidence from them.
Mr. Stawasz is a former Special Assistant United States Attorney from the Eastern District of Virginia. Prior to joining the U. S. Department of Justice, he litigated criminal and civil cases with law firms Goodwin Procter in Boston, Massachusetts and Dow, Lohnes & Albertson in Washington, DC. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and earned his Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Michael Geraghty
Executive Director, Technology Services Division, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children

Mike is the Executive Director of the Technology Services Division for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. In this capacity he is responsible for overseeing the Center’s enterprise information technology systems and services.

Mike has previous corporate and law enforcement experience, which includes a position as the vice president of High Technology Investigations at Prudential Financial. At Prudential, he was responsible for carrying out and supervising all computer related investigations for Prudential. He is a former New Jersey State Trooper and is responsible for the formation and development of the NJSP’s High Technology Crimes Investigations Unit, which has garnered international accolades for its expertise in computer crime investigations. He has provided expert testimony before Congress, and throughout federal, state and international courts in the areas of computer crime investigations and computer forensics.

In a partnership with Interpol’s General Secretariat and the International Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Mike has provided training to over 1000 law enforcement officers from 125 countries in the technical aspects of Internet investigations. Mike has provided technical and investigative assistance to numerous law enforcement agencies throughout the world including the FBI, United States Secret Service, U.S. Customs Service, Naval Intelligence, New Scotland Yard, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Service and local police departments across the country in a wide array of criminal investigations where computers were involved. He has lectured extensively throughout the country on the topic of computer crime investigations.

Mike is a past president of the Northeast Chapter of the High Technology Crimes Investigations Association. In addition, he has been involved in leadership roles in organizations such as the National Strategic Policy Council on Cyber and Electronic Crime, the International Computer Security Association, among others.

He is an award-winning workflow developer specializing in policy automation through rules-based software, SQL, ASP, C++, and web scripting. As a member of the ICANN At-Large structure Garth has helped author common sense policy of the Internet’s infrastructure. The KnujOn.com process has effectively shut down several hundred thousand illicit pharmacy sites, disrupted online drug networks and put shady Internet companies out of business. Garth is spearheading the development of a national strategy to address illicit pharmacy related cybercrime, partners welcome.

Doug HurleyDr. Doug Hurley
Vice President for Information Technology, University of Memphis

Dr. Hurley serves as the University's Vice President for Information Technology and CIO. He has management and leadership responsibilities for academic and administrative computing, networks, and telecommunications. He is responsible for overseeing institution-wide policy decisions governing IT, serves as the institutional data security officer, and leads the development of the annual Strategic Plan for Information Technology.

Shaye R. Mandle has served as the Executive Director of the FedEx Institute of Technology (FIT) at the University of Memphis since 2007. Under Mr. Mandle’s leadership, the FIT functions as the University of Memphis Innovation and Entrepreneurship Engagement Center, fostering relationships on a comprehensive level, providing value-added services, technology commercialization, research collaboration and connectivity throughout the University of Memphis’ extensive collection of prominent centers, faculty, students and corporate partners. Under Mr. Mandle’s leadership, the FIT has launched the University of Memphis’ Office of Technology Transfer and has made strategic investments in multiple new and existing research centers built around multidisciplinary collaboration, corporate partnerships, technology commercialization and new venture creation.

Judy SimonDr. Judy Simon
Co-Director, Center for Information Assurance, University of Memphis

Dr. Judith C. Simon earned her bachelor’s and doctoral degrees at Oklahoma State University, with her MBA from West Texas State University (now West Texas A & M University). Additional education includes certificates from the AACSB fcbe_faculty Development Institute and from professional courses on information systems topics. She worked for a manufacturing corporation in Texas for six years and has served as a consultant to large and small organizations.

Teaching areas have included many of the department’s graduate and undergraduate classes.

Dr. Simon’s publications include nine textbooks by various leading publishers such as John Wiley & Sons and Prentice Hall, as well as numerous other instructional materials, professional journal articles, and proceedings at national conferences. Current research interests focus on issues related to the management of innovative technology.

Professional organization memberships include the Society for Information Management, the Association for Information Systems, and the Decision Sciences Institute.
